First time applicants

Renewals
The Consular Section normally renews U.S. passports within 10 working days. If you need to travel immediately due to an extreme emergency, you may apply for a limited, emergency passport. Please note that issuance of an emergency passport is approved by the Consular Officer in extreme emergencies. All passport applications are sent to the Charleston Passport Center to be printed. Please bring your most recent passport and one photo complying with the requirements listed in the passport photo section (PDF - 217kb) of this website.
Fees
- First time adult applicants (age 16 and over); applicants whose prior passports were lost, stolen or mutilated: $135
- Adult passport renewals: $110
- Minors 15 years of age and younger (first time and renewals): $105
Fees can be paid is US dollars or Paraguayan guaraní at the Embassy daily exchange rate. As we have limited cash on-hand, we appreciate exact change.
STEP

American citizens, register with the Embassy in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program "STEP" to recieve important messages.
