Educational Exchange Program
 

The Cultural Unit of the U.S. Embassy works closely with the other elements of the U.S. Mission, as well as with a wide range of Thai public and private organizations to encourage broader understanding of the United States and its relationship with Thailand through educational exchange.

Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation: The Thailand-United States Educational Foundation (TUSEF) administers the Fulbright Program and other exchange programs in order to promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Thailand. The governments of the Thailand and the United States jointly finance TUSEF and its programs.

Fulbright Program: The Fulbright Program was established in the United States in 1946 and aims to strengthen understanding and communication between the United States and other nations by funding a variety of educational exchanges.

Humphrey Fellowships: Founded in 1978 in honor of the late Senator and Vice-president, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings to the United States accomplished mid-level professionals from designated countries that have a wide range of development needs.

Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES): The Department of State established the YES program in October, 2002 to provide scholarships for high school students (15-17 years) from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the U.S.

Global Undergraduate Exchange Program: This program (also known as the Global UGRAD Program) provides one semester and academic year scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors in certain regions of the world for non-degree full-time study combined with community service, internships and cultural enrichment.
