The Library was established to promote friendship and understanding between Mexico and the United States by providing access to information on their bilateral relationship.

It was inaugurated in 1942 and today it serves the Mission, the Mexican Government, the Media, professors, researchers, businessmen and anyone interested in learning more about the United States.
