Huntington House

The Lodge

 

Huntington House, located at the Jamaica Plain campus, provides a no charge temporary residence. The Lodge is a convenient and comfortable place to stay for veterans and their significant other or caretaker while veterans receive outpatient medical treatment at any of the VA Boston sites. To qualify for a stay, veterans must live outside a 50 mile radius. The Lodge does not house homeless individuals.

 

All guests must be able to care for their own personal needs, or with the assistance of their significant others/caretakers. The Lodge at Huntington House is not a treatment facility, hospice or counseling center. There are no doctors, nurses or other medical professionals available at Huntington House.

 

Services available

 

There is a fully furnished bedroom with television/VCR, clock radio with alarm, telephone for local calling only, and refrigerator. On the first floor there is a computer available with limited internet access. There are common living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and laundry facilities on each floor. Some handicapped rooms are available upon request.   There is free parking on medical center grounds.  

 

Guests are expected to provide their own toiletries.

 

Meals

 

Veterans are responsible for providing their own food and personal care items. A common kitchen is available to prepare meals. VA Cafeteria is open 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Menus from various local restaurants in the area are available at Huntington House as well.
