Additional Passport Pages
If your full-validity passport has not yet expired, but you have only a few blank pages remaining, we can add additional pages (24 pages in each insert). The process costs $82 and usually takes less than an hour. Generally, no more than two inserts of visa pages may be added to your passport. Passports that are well cared for, with very little wear and tear, may have a third visa page insert added.
We cannot add additional pages to a limited validity passport. If you run out of blank pages in a limited validity passport, you must apply for a new, full validity passport.
The application form for additional pages is the DS-4085 (PDF 59.24KB). It is also available at the consular section. U.S. passport holders 16 and older must personally sign the application form, but do not need to come to the Embassy personally to request new pages. Rather, they can send a person to do this for them, with a signed statement specifically allowing the designated person to do this on their behalf. The designated person will need to bring valid photo identification. U.S. passport holders under 16, must have one parent sign the application form at the consular section with his/her passport. On that form, the parent should indicate his/her relationship next to the signature on the form. Though not required, the consular officer may ask to see an original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate showing both parents names.
