During her first official visit to Paraguay’s southernmost city, Encarnación, Ambassador Liliana Ayalde participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Paraguayan-American Cultural Center’s (CCPA) Roosevelt Library.  The U.S. Embassy donated over 1,200 books and materials, furniture, a television set, computers, and other office equipment to establish this facility.  Also on hand for this event were Mayor Juan Alberto Schmalko and members of the Encarnación community.

Ambassador Ayalde also kicked off a youth leadership conference aimed at the Embassy’s English language scholarship students to provide them information about future Embassy educational and exchange programs for which they may qualify after learning English.

Lastly, the Ambassador visited the Paraguayan Central Clinic of Population Studies that focuses on reproductive health.  There, the Ambassador made a donation of basic pharmaceutical drugs that included antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and anti-fever pills, and pregnancy kits.
