Youth Leaders of indigenous origin depart to the U.S.

Today, the seven young Paraguayan leaders of Indigenous origin, selected to participate in the 2nd. Edition of the "American Studies Institute for Student Leaders”, departed to the U.S. These young leaders will spend five weeks in the United States receiving training under this intensive academic program.

About the "American Studies Institute for Student Leaders"

This program is a key component of the “President's Partnership for Latin American Youth", by which the Government of the United States designates

$75 million to develop various exchange and English programs, and for funding scholarships in the United States and other countries. It not only provides new educational opportunities to thousands of students from Latin America, but it also helps them to improve their skills to obtain employment.

This intensive academic program, to be held this year from January 23 to February 27, will be given in Spanish and is intended to provide university students of indigenous origin in Latin America, a broader view of U.S., while strengthening their leadership skills.

After a meticulous and competitive process, based on leadership skills and academic merits, the following young Paraguayan leaders of Indigenous origin, were selected:

  • Américo Eriberto Ayala de Estancia Loma Porá, Chaco (Presidente Hayes)
  • Marisleides Báez Martínez de Puerto Esperanza (Alto Paraguay)
  • Eulalio Cardizo Lucas de Yalve Sanga, Chaco (Boqueron)
  • Faustino Díaz Medina de Neuland, Chaco (Boqueron)
  • Bricelda Eduardo Lorenzo de Yalve Sanga, Chaco (Boqueron)
  • Fidelminio Sánchez Moreno de Campo Alegre, Chaco (Boqueron)
  • Orlando Vázquez Fargol de Colonia Neuland, Chaco (Boqueron)
