The Agriculture Extension Service and PRT Najaf marked the handover of new farm equipment in Najaf. This 485,000 USD project coordinated with the Agricultural Extension Center, Najaf PRT and the U.S. Army, will provide agricultural equipment and training aides to the Al Abbassiah Agricultural Extension Center and the Al Abbassiah Extension Farm in order to further build the organization’s capacity to better train farmers and agricultural workers in the region in more efficient, productive and modern farming methods and techniques.

The equipment and materials were delivered to two locations: the Headquarters of the Al-Abbassiah Agriculture Extension Service Center and Al-Abbassiah Extension Farm. Najaf Team Leader Angus Simmons, USAID representative Daryl Veal, and Public Diplomacy Officer Stephen Ibelli attended the event marking the handover of the new equipment.
