First Class of Cultural Heritage Students Complete Coursework at Iraq Institute in Erbil

Erbil Regional Reconstruction Team (RRT) Team Leader Andy Snow, the Embassy Cultural Heritage Specialist, and Erbil RRT staff participated in a small presentation of student work and a completion ceremony for the first group of students to graduate from the conservation course at the U.S.-sponsored Iraq Institute on May 27. The institute is part of a $14 million grant by the U.S. Embassy benefiting Iraq's cultural heritage sector.
The American participants also toured the institute’s new facility with KRG Minister of Municipalities & Tourism Samir Abdullah and Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi and their senior cultural heritage advisors. The Minister is responsible for all forms of tangible cultural heritage in the region.
