Chief Master Sergeant Gregg E. Jones is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 353rd Special Operations Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. He serves as principal advisor to the commander on all matters affecting the health, morale, welfare, professional development and combat readiness of 750 enlisted personnel. Additionally, Chief Jones is responsible for five squadrons and a group staff supporting all U.S. Air Force special operations forces throughout the Pacific theater by providing combat-ready special tactics forces, MC-130 Combat Talon II and Combat Shadow aircraft.

Chief Jones grew up in Clearwater, Fla., and entered the Air Force in June 1989. Upon completion of basic loadmaster technical training he received his basic aircrew wings in September 1989. Chief Jones has accumulated more than 4,900 flying hours and has been qualified in C-130E, C-130H, MC-130H, C-47, C-212, An-2 and An-32 aircraft. Chief Jones has extensive experience in Building Partner Nation Capacity having served a tour as a Combat Aviation Advisor and deployed in support of Coalition Air Force Transition Team in Iraq and Combined Air Power Transition Force in Afghanistan. He has performed direct action combat missions in Operations Desert Shield/Storm, Provide Comfort, Provide Promise, Joint Endeavor, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.
