Transatlantic Economic Council Annual Meeting 2010

U.S., EU Work to Dismantle Upstream Regulatory Barriers, Improve Innovation and Increase Cooperation
The Transatlantic Economic Council issued a joint statement describing the results of their annual meeting in Washington, D.C. on December 17, 2010. The Council, which brings together senior U.S. and European Union economic policy and regulatory officials to improve bilateral trade and economic relations, focused specifically on the roles that regulatory cooperation and innovation can play in reducing barriers to trade and improving economic growth in the two economies. A specific outcome from the meeting included a signed Memorandum of Understanding regarding e-health cooperation.
