Grants
The Office of Education supports formal, informal and non-formal education projects and programs through competitively awarded grants and cooperative agreements to a variety of educational institutions and organizations within the United States. These awards assist NOAA in meeting its educational goals of improving public environmental literacy and developing a diverse workforce skilled in fields relevant to our agency’s mission.

NOAA's Environmental Literacy Grants (ELG) are competitive national grants focused on creating an environmentally literate public that uses a comprehensive understanding of the role of the ocean, coasts, Great Lakes, weather and climate in the global ecosystem to make the best social and economic decisions. These competitive grants fund an array of educational organizations that reach diverse audiences. ELG supports informal and formal education projects, emphasizing partnerships that facilitate the integration of NOAA assets into education programs. More info...
NOAA's B-WET program is an environmental education program that promotes locally relevant, experiential learning in the K-12 environment. The delivery of B-WET occurs primarily through competitive funding that promotes Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs).
