GEORGIA GARRISON TRAINING CENTER, Fort Stewart, Ga., April 15, 2012 – Colonel David S. Lee of Statesboro has been selected to serve as the national co-chairman for the Training Center Command Advisory Council (TCCAC). Lee currently serves as the Garrison Commander of the Georgia Garrison Training Center (GGTC).

“I am truly honored to have been selected for this position. The Training Center Command Advisory Council and Garrison Training Center community at large has continued to grow, improve and become an even more relevant force amongst the pantheon of combat multipliers,” Lee said.

The purpose of the TCCAC is to advise the Chief, Army Training Division, National Guard Bureau, on all matters pertaining to Army National Guard Training Centers.

The GGTC is one of 110 National Guard Training Centers. Comprised of more than 750 acres adjacent to Fort Stewart, the facility has served as a premier training facility since the 1940s. In addition to providing training for National Guard and Reserve Soldiers, the GGTC hosts the Youth ChalleNGe Academy and provides training facilities and instruction for FEMA and GEMA. As of 2009, more than two million Soldiers had trained at the GGTC. 

Lee recognized the efforts of Garrison Training Centers during a speech at a recent Training Center University (TCU) event.

“Today marks a historic moment in the development and evolution of our Garrison Training Centers. Today we will be recognized for our accomplishments in the past and what we will continue to do in the future,” he said.

Lee has served as the Garrison Commander at Georgia Garrison Training Center since July 2007. In addition to his normal duties, he served as the TCCAC Region II co-chairman, an instructor at the Training Center University, the chairman at Region III of TCCAC, Dean of Schools, and Training Center University and is currently the National Co-Chairman of TCCAC. Prior to accepting his new the national co chairman position, Col. Lee served as the TCCAC Region III Chairman.
