Type of Data

On this page, we have provided access to our Aircraft Data. If you need access to another set of data, please use the contact page to inquire about the data directly with a flight director. In addition to the data collection here, we encourage you to search through The Hurricane Research Division's Data Sets and the data available at the National Climatic Data Center page. Finally, before you use any data provided by the AOC Science Section, please read the following data policy:

The information on government servers are in the public domain, unless specifically annotated otherwise, and may be used freely by the public as long as you do not 1) claim it is your own, 2) use it in a manner that implies an endorsement or affiliation with NOAA, or 3) modify it in content and then present it as offical government material. Attribution of data and images to NOAA, or other originating agency, is requested.

You also cannot present information of your own in a way that makes it appear to be official government information.

Before using information obtained from this server, special attention should be given to the date and time of the data and products being displayed. Additionally, before any data is used for publication purposes, the Science Section Chief should be notified, so the involved flight director will receive appropriate acknowledgement for his/her work in the publication.

The user assumes the entire risk related to its use of this data. NOAA is providing the data "as is," and disclaims any and all warranties, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will NOAA be liable to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages or lost profit resulting from any use or misuse of this data.

As required by 17 U.S.C. 403, third parties producing copyrighted works consisting predominantly of the material appearing in NOAA webpages must provide notice with such works identifying the NOAA material incorporated and stating that such material is not subject to copyright protection.
