Eight years ago today our Nation was forever changed. Time passes; our memories endure. Today is a day of remembrance, a day to reflect on the memories of those who lost their lives, the families who continue on their journey without their loved ones, and the impact of 9/11 on our children, growing up in a generation that knows sacrifice. As a country, we lost husbands, wives, partners, children, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, colleagues and a part of the America we once knew. We have a sacred duty to honor those who have given, so much on our behalf. Literature and history has provided us a path to our journey.
