Mission, Vision, and Purpose
1. Mission Statement. The Office of the General Counsel enables the Navy and the
Marine Corps to fulfill their missions in the changing world by providing candid
legal advice and counsel, effective advocacy, and creative problem solving.
2. Vision Statement. To be a world-class legal organization, composed of talented,
trained, and dedicated professionals, working together to aid our clients in achieving
the Department of the Navy’s mission.
3. Purpose Statement. To develop innovative legal solutions to the business and
other challenges facing the Navy and Marine Corps to enhance warfighting capability
of the Naval Service.
