We know that having a family member or friend in our hospital can be hard. To help, patients are given an Inpatient Handbook when they come into the hospital. The handbook has great information that can help you understand important things about the hospital stay. Be sure to ask to see the Inpatient Handbook when you visit.
If you are looking for a card or gift to share with your loved ones during their stay, our Retail Store is located on the first floor near the Chapel. It is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sunday.
Cafeteria hours are from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. However, there is a small vending area for frozen dinners, snacks, etc. on the north side of the cafeteria near the ATM.
Unfortunately we do not have flowers.
Visiting Hours
Families of patients are welcome at anytime on the wards or Community Living Center. Visitors of patients in the MICU and SICU may have limited intervals depending on care levels needed.

We welcome Veterans and their family and friends. VHA follows The Joint Commission guidelines concerning for patient’s rights:
- We respect the patient’s right to take part in deciding about his or her care, treatment, and services, and we include the family in those decisions.
- Family includes relatives and anybody else that you want to name.
- We allow a family member, friend or anybody else that you want to be with you during your stay to help and support you unless there are problems related to another person’s rights or safety, or your medical condition doesn’t allow for visitors.
- We will not discriminate based on any reason.
Phoenix VA Health Care System Business Hours
Our normal working hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and we closed Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays.
