Consular Districts for India & Bhutan

Each of the five U.S. consular sections in India has jurisdiction over a distinct territory. All such territories are called consular districts. Every consular district includes many Indian states and union territories; New Delhi's consular district also includes the Kingdom of Bhutan.

If you live in India or Bhutan, you must appear for your nonimmigrant visa interview at the consular section that has jurisdiction over the consular district where you have been resident for the last six months.

If you have permanently moved location in the last six months, and are not on a temporary transfer, you should apply at the consular section covering your present residence.

New Delhi Consular District

Covers the following states and territories: Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and the Kingdom of Bhutan
