What does "commissioning" mean?
Commissioning is the process of earning an official appointment to the rank of second lieutenant. There are several ways to seek a commission, including Platoon Leaders Class, Officer Candidate Course, NROTC, the Naval Academy, The Citadel and enlisted-to-officer programs.
