The U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda Donald W. Koran officially opened the new American Corner at the Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC) in Rubavu, Western Province.  The American Corner will provide students and residents of Rubavu with educational opportunities, computer access and English language skills.

In his remarks, Ambassador Koran said that the American Corner will not only benefit the students at the RTUC, but also the residents of Rubavu. The RTUC American Corner will provide the internet, books, programs and other activities to help the people of Rubavu and neighboring communities develop their reading skills.

RTUC Rector Callixte Kabera thanked the U.S Embassy saying that it is not the first time the college is receiving U.S. Embassy support. He said that in 2010 the Public Affairs Section gave RTUC $10,000 worth of books which have helped improve student performance.
