Viewing Files

In addition to standard HTML Web pages, our web site contain other file formats. You may need additional software or browser plug-ins to view some of the information available on our site. This document lists show each format, along with links to the corresponding freely available plug-ins or viewers.

The following additional tools and browser plug-ins may be needed to fully experience content offered on the EDRN web site:

Documents

Adobe Acrobat Reader Adobe Acrobat Reader (.pdf)
Macintosh users can use the Mac OS X built-in "Preview" application as well as the Safari browser to view PDF files. Windows users will need to download Acrobat Reader for free*.

Microsoft Word Microsoft Word (.doc)
Where possible, EDRN prefers PDF files. However, if a Word file sneaks by our inspectors, Macintosh users can use built-in features of Mac OS X to view them. Windows users will need to download Word Viewer 2003 for free*.

Microsoft Excel Microsoft Excel (.xls)
Macintosh users can use built-in features of Mac OS X to view Excel files. Windows users will need to download Excel Viewer 2003 for free*.

Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt)
Where possible, EDRN prefers PDF files. However, if a PowerPoint presentation sneaks by our inspectors, Macintosh users can use built-in features of Mac OS X to view them. Windows users will need to download PowerPoint Viewer 2003 for free*.

Multimedia

Apple QuickTime Apple QuickTime (.mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .aif, .mp3, .m4p, .m4v, .m4a)
If you do not already have QuickTime, you can download QuickTime Player for free* (Macintosh and Windows).

Adobe Flash Player Adobe Flash Player (.swf)
If you do not already have Adobe Flash, you can download Adobe Flash Player for free* (Macintosh and Windows).

* The NCI Web site provides links to other Internet sites for informational purposes and the convenience of its users.
