In an effort to improve visa services, the American Embassy in Cairo has established a visa appointment system through the call center. All visa applicants must call the designated number, provide basic information about themselves [such as name, date of birth, passport number, reason for travel] and schedule an appointment for a visa interview.

To schedule a visa interview appointment, please call 0900 70600 any day between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. This number can only be reached from within Egypt using a regular landline. If you wish to call from a cellular phone, call 2100 from any call center line. The charge for this service is LE 5.5 per minute with a ceiling of 50 LE. The average call length is 10 minutes. The Embassy generates no profit from the visa appointment system.

An applicant who needs an interview but has not scheduled an appointment through the Visa Appointment System will not be allowed into the Embassy to apply for a visa.

Please bear in mind that each individual in your traveling party will need a separate appointment. Children under the age of 14 must have appointments as well. A separate application fee must be paid for each child and a separate application MUST be completed and a recent picture attached.
