Dr. Elias Zerhouni in Saudi Arabia
 

President Obama’s advisor and Science Envoy Dr. Elias Zerhouni traveled to the Kingdom to attend the meeting of the KAUST Board of Trustees, which he joined in September 2009 .

In the presence of Shoura Member Mazen Balila, the International Passport for Science and Technology Club was inaugurated by Chairman of the Board and Prince Naif Bin Mamadouh.  An International Science passport was granted to Dr. Zerhouni and other international scientists.  This passport grants its holder a free visa to enter and visit more than 300 international scientific clubs in the world. During his visit to the Jeddah Oasis for Science club, Dr. Zerhouni stated that he is President Obama’s envoy to the Middle East, tasked to seek areas for cooperation on health, education, science, and technology.
