Welcome to the Public Affairs Section at the US Consulate, Jeddah!
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the US Consulate General is responsible for delivering information about the US to the Saudi public. The information ranges from information about the US government and its policies, to information about American institutions, the people and the culture.
In addition, PAS organizes conferences, seminars and talks for visiting American officials and academics. It also manages a variety of educational and cultural exchanges, both short-term and long-term, that allow Saudi students, academics and professionals to visit the US and for Americans to visit Saudi Arabia.
A subsection of PAS is the Information Resource Center (IRC). The IRC provides authoritative, relevant and timely background on the content and context of US policy issues and American society. It offers research, reference and documentative services on American foreign and domestic policies, including political and legislative developments, defense and security matters, social, economic and environmental issues, people and institutions.
