The American Library, Mumbai is a public library, open to all Indian citizens. Our library is free and open to public for reference, research or just exploring the collection.

We provide timely, reliable and comparative information on a variety of topics ranging from American politics, culture, history, economy as well as international relations and global issues.

With books, journals, English language learning materials along with DVDs, newspapers, U.S. government publications,  there is something for everyone. Even the young reader will find more than 1,000 titles of fiction and non-fiction at the American Library.

Collection

The American Library, Mumbai has more than 11000 books, 145 periodicals, 500 DVDs and an online database - eLibraryUSA.

Access to the American Library is quick and easy

All visitors are requested to produce an original valid photo-identification (ID) at the entrance to the U.S. Consulate General. 

Mobile phones and laptops are permitted, but Bluetooth technology must be disabled. Cameras, memory storage devices, and other electronic equiment are not allowed. Click here for more details
