Forms and Payments

The U.S. Embassy and Consular Agency cashiers accept the following forms of payment for fees:

  • The U.S. Embassy in Kingston accepts all major U.S. or dual currency credit cards with a valid photo ID (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), U.S. Dollars, Jamaican Dollars, International Postal Money Orders, or Traveler’s Checks (Cheques).  Personal Checks are NOT accepted!
  • The U.S. Consular Agency in the Cayman Islands accepts only U.S.-denominated bank drafts (the equivalent of cashiers’ checks).  The drafts should be made out to the U.S. Embassy and drawn on a U.S. bank.
  • The U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay accepts Jamaican cash and all major U.S. credit cards with a valid photo ID (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express).

Are You Registered?

  • STEP The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in, a foreign country. STEP allows you to enter information about your trips abroad so that the Department of State can better assist you in an emergency.
