Lineage and HonorsConstituted August 12, 1943 in the Army of the United States as the 10th Military Police Section, Criminal Investigation Activated August 14, 1943 at Fort Custer, Michigan Inactivated February 25, 1946 in Germany Activated January 2, 1947 in New York, New York Allotted August 1, 1951 to the Regular Army Redesignated August 16, 1954 as 10th Military Police Detachment Inactivated December 24, 1965 at New York, New York Activated January 16, 1968 at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey Inactivated July 25, 1969, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey Activated August 1, 1973 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina Reorganized and redesignated September 1, 1996 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 10th Military Police Battalion. Campaign credit has been awarded for Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. |
