Commander, 10th Military Police Battalion (CID)(ABN)

Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey T. Stewart is a native of Ohio and ROTC graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Statue University.  He entered active service in 1992.  In his most recent assignment he served as an Assistant Deputy Director for Operations of the National Military Command Center, the Joint Staff, in the Pentagon, Washington D.C.

His previous assignments include Brigade Operations Officer (S3), 18th Military Police Brigade, Mannheim Germany; Battalion Executive Officer 95th Military Police Battalion, while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, and Battalion Operations officer at home station, Mannheim, Germany; Brigade Training Officer, 8th Military Police Brigade, Yongsan, South Korea; Assistant Professor of Military Science at Virginia Tech Army ROTC, Blacksburg, Virginia; Assistant S3, 519th Military Police Battalion in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Fort Polk, Louisiana; Commander 258th Military Police Company, Fort Polk, Louisiana; and Platoon Leader 529th Military Police Company, Heidelberg, Germany.

His military education includes the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Military Police Officer Advanced Course and Officer Basic Course, Fort McClellan, Alabama.

Lieutenant Colonel Stewart holds a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Statue University. 

His previous awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge.
