Growing up Grand |
Scott Wilson ANN ARBOR -- Join Scott Wilson, White House Correspondent for the Washington Post, as he discusses covering one of the most competitive, important and exciting beats in journalism – the presidency. Wilson will describe the difficulties in covering such a closed institution and a private president and examine how the White House media operation has changed to an in-house machine in service of the president and his agenda. Scott Wilson will also examine the dizzying array of modern mass media, and how White House journalists are challenged by competing imperatives of speed and spice in this hyper-competitive Internet age, reigning in news that is fast-moving, staged, and often superficial, and yielding even-handed analysis of the presidency. A reception will follow the program. Free Admission. Open Seating. Free parking. |
