The Turning Point page is designed to provide a dynamic avenue to channel massive amounts of information to Airmen and their spouses. The idea is to expand public awareness, enhance spousal involvement, and bolster the public Web site pertaining to four focus areas: military preparedness, support for formal agencies, ability of spouses to cope with deployment, and relationship support. Information for this page is provided by the Integrated Delivery System. The IDS develops a comprehensive, coordinated plan for integrating and implementing community outreach and prevention programs such as financial management; violence awareness, intervention and prevention; sexual assault prevention; suicide prevention; substance abuse prevention; domestic violence prevention; health promotion; tobacco cessation, and more.

How to Enroll

Contact your installation Family Advocacy Office to register for classes and services.

Installation Specific Information

The Family Advocacy Outreach and Prevention Program enhances mission readiness by utilizing Licensed Master-level Social Workers to educate the communities of RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell. For parents of children 4-10 years old, Outreach Managers offer "Parent Zone", a practical, skill-based parenting program that can be applied to every family. Easy-to-learn techniques address issues of communication, discipline, coping, decision-making and self-control. For parents of children 11-17 years old, Outreach Managers offer "Tweens-N-Teens", a program aimed at providing parents with the tools to effectively help adolescents transition to adulthood and independence. Our "Stress & Anger Management Seminar" (SAMS) provides skills to help you manage everyday life, deployments and conflicts at work and home, and to help you get a handle on potentially harmful emotions through reflection and relaxation. For couples, FAP offers a research-based class that teaches couples how to communicate effectively, work as a team, manage conflicts and preserve and enhance love, commitment and friendship. Additionally, Outreach Managers collaborate with other agencies on and off base to offer special events and opportunities. Many of our classes are voluntary and are treated as medical appointments, with no record generated.

The Family Advocacy Maltreatment Program assesses and treats active duty members and eligible beneficiaries experiencing family maltreatment (domestic violence). Licensed Clinical Social Worker Treatment Managers provide advice and consultation on issues related to risk of harm and safety of victims. Some of the services offered include couples' FAST counseling and gender-specific counseling groups. Through Family Advocacy Strength-Based Therapy (FAST) services, Treatment Managers provide psychosocial assessments and therapeutic intervention to couples and families.
