Many individuals inside and outside the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) have contributed to the development of the NAL Agricultural Thesaurus and Glossary. National Program Staff of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and the National Agricultural Library funded and supported the first edition in 2002, which was published in English. ARS scientists, National Program Staff, AGRICOLA Indexing Staff, AgNIC partners, and other catalogers, indexers and subject experts outside of USDA contributed to the content. Thesaurus development and maintenance work is done by the NAL Thesaurus Staff in collaboration with representatives from the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Mexican Network of Agricultural Libraries (REMBA), Orton Memorial Library, and other Latin American vocabulary experts. The NAL Thesaurus Staff would like to acknowledge Federico Sancho (IICA) and Marta Abarca (Orton Memorial Library) for their dedication and support to make this project possible.
