Welcome to the USAID Ethics Page.  This resource, which will be updated on a continuing basis, is intended to assist USAID employees seeking general information on a variety of topics relating to USAID and government-wide statutory and regulatory ethics requirements.  By reading these documents, USAID employees will be able to familiarize themselves with the statutes and regulations that govern their ethical conduct as USAID employees.  We have attempted to incorporate interrelated topics so that the user may obtain a more comprehensive overview of his/her particular issue.

Please understand, however, that our homepage is not intended to substitute for situation-specific legal advice provided by a USAID regional legal advisor (RLA).  While we encourage USAID employees to use this site to better structure their inquiries and understand their situation, USAID employees should continue to consult their RLA when ethical questions arise.  Employees who fail to consult with appropriate agency ethics officials risk being left vulnerable to civil and criminal investigations that could result in administrative, civil, or criminal penalties.

If you have any questions regarding conflicts of interest or standards of ethical conduct, please contact your RLA.
