Sergeant Stephen Counts is new to Germany and to the world of broadcasting. He joined the Army in 2008 shortly after graduating high school. He enjoyed his time as an engineer working at Ft. Knox and deploying to Afghanistan. He enjoyed his days of being a single soldier and wearing his specialist badge and having little responsibility. Life had other plans in store for SGT Counts though. In the spring of 2011, he married his beautiful wife, Brielle, and as if the responsibilities weren’t piling on already, he was promoted to Sergeant in June of 2011. At that point, he decided to re-evaluate his life and thought it was time for a change of scenery. He then became a broadcast journalist, completing his job training at the Defense Information School in Ft. Meade, MD in April 2012. Then he was off to Germany. Every so often, you can find him sitting quietly with his three guinea pigs, George, Cave, and Jade, reflecting on much simpler days.
