The U.S. Embassy’s Humanitarian Assistance Team organized a MEDCAP in Mederdra, Trarza on October 21, 2011.  More than 320 patients received treatment from medical professionals.  Officials in Mederdra were very supportive, providing Mauritanian doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to address basic health needs of the community and to provide preventative medicine instruction.  The chief doctor and his team handled patients professionally and the gendarmerie made sure everything moved along orderly and smoothly.  The day was a great success for all those involved!
