Monday 27 June marked the annual quest by Harley Davidson to log millions of miles together in just one day.  Riders at Fort Devens did just that; showed the world what it meant to live life to its fullest as part of the largest, most passionate motorcycling community in the world.  The group took advantage of the great weather forecast and rode to work, obtained a Motorcycle Safety Brief, took a group photo, and rode to Kimball Farm in Lancaster for lunch.  

There were no excuses needed for electing to ride on Monday.  After a weekend of rain, the 9 riders took advantage of the 81 degrees, mostly sunny weather.  Mr. Gene Carabine, from the MA DOT Rider Education Program, provided the group a Safety Education brief on local MA area laws, regulations, and statistics.  The statistics portion of the brief focused on the various trends for the state of MA involving motorcycle accidents and fatalities.  Generally, in relation to accidents, statistics show that high accident periods are Saturdays and Sundays; July – September; from 6 – 9 pm; and involve men more than women.
