American Corners
In Manila, the Public Affairs Section maintains the Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC) to support information requests from our Filipino audience. Using state of the art technology, including CD-ROM and on-line data bases, the TJIC provides updated information about the United States to Philippine government officials, academics and journalists. The Center is located in the U.S. Embassy compound on Roxas Boulevard.
The American Corners provide access to current and reliable information about the United States via book collections, CD-ROMS, DVDs, the Internet, and through local programming to the general public. The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible to all who are interested. American Corners also provide facilities to host program events and activities (e.g., poetry & short story readings, films, speaker programs, workshops, meetings, exhibits, paper shows, mock elections, cultural events, etc.).
