In Case of Emergency
The numbers below are provided for U.S. citizens who are distressed and require emergency services such as assistance with the death, arrest, illness or injury of an American citizen. Routine services such as passport renewals, reports of birth abroad and notarials are not considered emergencies and are processed during regular business hours. For more information, please see the menu items on the left menu.
Embassy ROME - If you are an American citizen with an after hours emergency and are within the Rome consular district, please call the switchboard at (+39) 06.46741. The Rome consular district includes the regions of Lazio, Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo, and Sardegna.
Consulate General MILAN - If you are an American citizen with an after hours emergency and are within the Milan consular district, please call the switchboard at (+39) 02.290351. The Milan consular district includes the regions of Valle D'Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna (Provinces of Piacenza and Parma only).
Consulate General FLORENCE - If you are an American citizen with an after hours emergency and are within the Florence consular district, please call the switchboard at (+39) 055.266.951. The Florence consular district includes the regions of Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna (all except the Provinces of Piacenza and Parma).
Consulate General NAPLES - If you are an American citizen with an after hours emergency and are within the Naples consular district, please call the switchboard at (+39) 081.583.8111. The Naples consular district includes the regions of Campania, Molise, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, and Sicilia.
