New: Combating Fraud, Waste and Abuse in Federal Tax Administration

U.S. citizens and resident aliens generally must file income tax returns, whether they live in the U.S. or abroad. The Consular Section has some federal tax forms and instruction booklets. You can pick up forms during American Citizen Services hours; there is no fee. Forms can also be downloaded from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) web site at http://www.irs.gov/

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any tax advice. However, the IRS has a regional office for Europe. For tax-related questions and more detailed information on paying taxes overseas, please visit the regional office web site at http://germany.usembassy.gov/acs/irs/
