PFP Glovebox Removal
On Oct. 25, 2012, DOE announced that contractor CH2M HILL removed a 10-ton, two-story piece of contaminated equipment from the Plutonium Finishing Plant. The equipment, called a glovebox, was used in the 1960s to store plutonium. The removal of the glovebox is an important step in preparing Hanford's highest-hazard facility for eventual demolition.
