Internships
Congress has a long history of offering Congressional internships to provide students the opportunity to gain firsthand experience with the legislative process. We are honored to welcome North Dakota students to join each of my Senate offices to take part in our internship program where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the federal government, legislative process, and the issues impacting our state and country.
Young adults interning with our office can expect to work closely with staff members on a variety of projects, including communication, legislative, constituent, and administrative work. Interns frequently assist with researching issues and tracking legislation as well as helping constituents and, in Washington, serving as guides on Capitol tours. Interns working in Washington also have the chance to attend committee hearings and other Congressional meetings and events.
Our office internship program offers three sessions: the Spring Session runs from January until May; the Summer Session runs from June through August; and the Fall Session runs from September through December.
Fulltime and part-time internships are offered, and each intern receives a small stipend to help defray living expenses.
Individuals interested in applying for an internship should submit a completed application by the deadlines listed below.
