Legislative Affairs

The NIFA Legislative Affairs Office is responsible for all nonbudget-related interactions with Congress. The office tracks Congressional activity related to agricultural research, education, and extension and responds to information requests from Congressional staff and USDA Office of Congressional Affairs. The Legislative Affairs Office coordinates requests for Congressional briefings and for analysis of proposed legislation. Legislative Affairs staff also coordinate the implementation of newly authorized programs for NIFA.
