Global Hawk

The Quadrennial Defense Review is aimed at giving guidance to Air Force and Defense Department, leaders on the transformation of the total force to better meet the nations warfighting objectives. One such point is the significant increase in unmanned aerial systems like the Global Hawk above.

An F-22A Raptor

An F-22A Raptor taxis down the runway. This year's $1.3 billion military construction request, as part of the president's fiscal year 2007 budget plan, is the largest in the last 15 years and includes projects for new mission beddowns like the F-22A Raptor.

Tanker time

INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- A KC-135 Stratotanker takes off from here. Six additional Stratotankers arrived here Nov. 1 and 2 to support operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. The aircraft and their crews are from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.; Robins AFB, Ga.; and McConnell AFB, Kan.
