Three opportunities for Valves & Actuators 101 training in 2013

In addition to VMA's Valve Basics Seminar & Exhibits, expanded to two full days and scheduled to take place at Harrah's Hotel in New Orleans, Nov 6-7, VMA has been asked to teach a one-day version of its Valves & Actuators 101 course in conjunction with two major industry events: AFPM (American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers) Reliability & Maintenance Conference & Exhibition, May 21 in Orlando, and Valve World Americas Expo & Conference, June 24 in Houston. Mark Cordell is chairman of VMA during 75th anniversary

Outgoing VMA chairman Bruce Broxterman, president, Richards Industries, handed the chairman’s gavel to incoming chairman Mark Cordell, president, Distributed Valves, Cameron Valves & Measurement at the VMA/VRC 74th Annual Meeting, Sept. 20-22. This year’s meeting, held at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay in California, was the beginning of a year-long celebration of 75 years since the founding of VMA. VMA provides numerous educational tools

With the aging of our industry, bringing in -- and educating -- a new generation of workers is more critical than ever. And the more newcomers, the greater the importance of providing education and training. That's why the Valve Manufacturers Association offers a number of ways for people in our industry to increase their knowledge:

The Valve Basics Seminar & Exhibits is a 1.5 day course designed for newcomers and those who need a refresher on valves, actuators and controls. Held twice a year in different locations, this educational event feature Valves & Actuators 101 and a tabletop exhibition. Dates and venues for 2013 will be announced soon!

The Technical Seminar & Exhibition is geared toward more experienced personnel, with a program that changes each year based on the latest technical developments and emerging issues. In 2013, the program will take place March 7-8 in Charlotte, NC, with a focus on Valve & Actuator Trends in the Power Industry.
