Refinery Stack

Noise measurements are made with a high temperature microphone probe inside of a gas turbine exhaust stack at an oil refinery. (HFP Acoustical Consultants)

Arctic Noise Testing

Ambient noise monitoring is conducted on the Arctic ice at –50ºF, with sound measurement instrumentation kept warm inside of an insulated enclosure with a silent propane-powered thermo-electric generator that produces heat and electricity.  This is used to predict the environmental noise impact on native wildlife of a future gas processing plant.  (HFP Acoustical Consultants)

Developing and Earplug

Acentech’s RH Lyon Division developed an in-ear earphone for underwater communications for scuba divers as part of a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II project to develop novel applications for advanced transducer material.  (Photo and description courtesy of Acentech.)

INCE-USA
