Complaints: Office of Professional Responsibility

The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) conducts administrative investigations on misconduct issues against employees of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) and Pretrial Services Agency (PSA). The OPR reports directly to the Deputy Director/Director, and is responsible for conducting reviews or investigations on possible instances of internal violation of laws or regulations, mismanagement, gross waste of funds, abuse of authority, substantial and specific danger to public health and safety, and allegations of employee misconduct.

The purpose of OPR investigations is to determine if allegations of employee misconduct are substantiated. If allegations are substantiated, the OPR investigative reports are reviewed by the Office of General Counsel (OGC) for legal sufficiency. After a review by the OGC, the Director and Deputy Director of either CSOSA or PSA, as appropriate, reviews investigative reports prior to the report being forwarded to the appropriate management official. The appropriate management official makes the initial decision on whether disciplinary action is warranted, in consideration of the OPR findings and conclusion.
