Lineage. Constituted as 482 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 21 Dec 1942. Activated on 2 Jan 1943. Disbanded on 1 Apr 1944. Reconstituted and consolidated (25 Feb 1981) with the 482 Air Base Group, which was established on 26 May 1952. Activated in the Reserve on 14 Jun 1952. Inactivated on 1 Dec 1952. Activated in the Reserve on 18 May 1955. Inactivated on 16 Nov 1957. Redesignated as 482 Combat Support Squadron on 25 Feb 1981. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Apr 1981. Redesignated as: 482 Mission Support Squadron on 1 Feb 1992; 482 Force Support Squadron on 1 Dec 2010.

IV Air Service Area Command, 2 Jan 1943; Ogden Air Depot Control Area Command (later, Ogden Area Service Command), 1 Feb 1943-1 Apr 1944. 482 Troop Carrier Wing, 14 Jun-1 Dec 1952. 482 Fighter-Bomber Wing, 18 May 1955-16 Nov 1957. 482 Tactical Fighter (later, 482 Fighter) Wing, 1 Apr 1981; 482 Support (later, 482 Mission Support) Group, 1 Aug 1992-.

Stations. Hill Fld, UT, 2 Jan 1943-1 Apr 1944. Miami IAP, FL, 14 Jun-1 Dec 1952. Dobbins AFB, GA, 18 May 1955-16 Nov 1957. Homestead AFB (later, Homestead ARS), FL, 1 Apr 1981-.
