Redesignated as: 2192 Communications Squadron on 1 Jul 1961; 2192 Information Systems Squadron on 1 Jul 1984; 2192 Communications Squadron on 1 Nov 1986; 42 Communications Squadron on 1 Sep 1991. Inactivated on 30 Jun 1994. Activated on 1 Oct 1994. Redesignated as: 42 Communications Flight on 29 Feb 2008; 42 Communications Squadron on 1 Nov 2009.
