Lineage. Constituted as 394 Signal Company, Aviation, on 17 Jan 1943. Activated on 1 Feb 1943. Redesignated as 23 Communications Squadron, Command, on 1 Jul 1946. Inactivated on 10 Nov 1947. Disbanded on 15 Jun 1983. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 23 Combat Communications Squadron, on 11 May 1988. Activated on 1 Jun 1988. Inactivated on 30 Sep 1993. Activated on 1 Oct 2009.
