We are interested in garnering subject matter expert opinion and support to utilize the COMPASS and SESAME applications to forecast our logistics support requirements for a deployable training platform. Are there any Governmental resources that we could leverage to (1) obtain use of these applications; (2) obtain instructions for their use; and/or (3) obtain support to develop our supportability strategy through SME assistance in loading our requirements into these applications?
Best bet for COMPASS is to contact US Army Materiel Command (AMC) Logistics Support Activity (LOGSA), the owners of COMPASS, directly for SME support and/or assistance. A link is available at https://www.logsa.army.mil/alc/compass/ . They can also be reached directly at compass@logsa.army.mil or (256) 955-6310/9937/9117. Of course there's always their LOG 911help tool at https://weblog.logsa.army.mil/log911/index.cfm.
Re: SESAME: According to the AMSO website (http://www.amso.army.mil/smart/documents/guidelines/chapter4.htm ), "the initial provisioning package can be identified using the Selected Essential-Item Stock for Availability Method (SESAME) model, available through the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM). This Army-approved model uses inputs such as repair and maintenance task distribution (from COMPASS), component reliability, OPTEMPO, and repair cycle times to identify the least-cost mix of stocks that will provide a required readiness (referred to as an Operational Availability in SESAME). The model can also be used to identify the least expensive way to plus-up an already identified package that does not meet the readiness requirement, to attain the required readiness." Might recommend you contact CECOM or LOGSA for further ideas regarding SME support for SESAME.
