In Case of Emergency

Emergency situations include the death of an American citizen, the arrest of an American citizen and the loss/theft of an American passport, when travel must take place before the next working day.  Generally, an emergency is defined as a life or death situation that requires immediate assistance.

  • Embassy Emergency Contact Information: For emergencies during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm) please call (374-10) 49-46-86. For after-hour emergencies please call (374-10) 49-44-44.
  • Fire, Police, and Other Emergency Services: For the Fire Department, dial 101.  The Armenian Police can be reached by dialing 102.  For Ambulance Services, dial 103. In case of a gas leak, dial 104.  For all other inquiries, dial 109.

In the event that you need to reach a U.S.-citizen family member overseas in an emergency, please call:

  • State Department's Citizen Emergency Center: (202) 647-5225 or toll-free from within the U.S. at 1-888-407-4747. The State Department will relay the message to consular officers in the country in which the U.S. citizen is traveling. Consular officers will try to locate him or her, pass on urgent messages, and, consistent with the Privacy Act, report back to you.
